Job Description: Shopify Developer (Maintenance & Enhancements)

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Shopify Developer to maintain, optimize, and scale our high-growth e-commerce platform. While our store is fully operational with active integrations to Odoo and Quivo. You will be responsible for the technical migration to Shopify Plus, launching a B2B channel, and implementing subscription models. This role requires a developer who is as comfortable with high-level architectural shifts (like regional expansion) as they are with day-to-day troubleshooting and performance tuning.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Evolution & Scalability

• Lead the technical upgrade from Shopify to Shopify Plus, ensuring zero downtime and seamless data migration.
• Set up and customize Shopify’s B2B features to manage wholesale customers, custom pricing, and specialized checkout flows.
• Enable and optimize subscription-based selling to drive recurring revenue.
• Implement technical adjustments required for regional expansion, including multi-currency, multi-language support, and localized storefront logic.
• Deeply integrate and customize shipment features and third-party logistics (3PL) logic to streamline fulfillment.

Platform Maintenance & Enhancements

• Maintain and update the existing Shopify store, ensuring stability and optimal performance.
• Implement design or functional improvements when needed.
• Conduct regular testing to identify bugs, performance issues, or broken elements.
• Ensure mobile responsiveness, accessibility, and best‑practice UX standards.

ERP Integration Maintenance (Odoo & Quivo)

• Oversee and maintain existing integrations with Odoo and Quivo.
• Monitor data flow for products, inventory, pricing, and orders to ensure accuracy.
• Troubleshoot sync or connectivity issues when they arise.
• Liaise with integration partners if deeper technical fixes are needed.

Back‑End Development

• Configure and customise Shopify back‑end settings, including product structures, metafields, schemas, and automated workflows.
• Build and maintain custom functionalities using Shopify’s backend logic and scripts.
• Develop custom Shopify apps (private or public) when required.
• Implement and manage Shopify Admin API & Storefront API integrations webhooks, scripts, API calls, and automation tasks.
• Troubleshoot back‑end logic, checkout behaviour, and data flow issues.
• Ensure data consistency between Shopify and integrated systems.

SEO & Performance Optimization

• Technical SEO: Lead the implementation of structured data (JSON-LD), manage canonical tags, and optimize robots.txt and sitemap configurations.
• Site Speed & Core Web Vitals: Monitor and improve LCP, FID, and CLS scores through code minification, image optimization, and efficient Liquid execution.
• URL Architecture: Manage redirects, handle 404 errors, and ensure SEO-friendly URL structures during product migrations or category updates.
• SEO Content Integrity: Audit product titles, meta descriptions, and alt text for SEO compliance during bulk uploads.

Shopify Plugins & App Management

Manage and optimise key Shopify apps including (but not limited to): Product reviews apps, Wishlist functionality, Zapiet (delivery & pickup), Klaviyo (email & automation), loyalty apps, search apps, upsell tools, payment, shipping, and analytics apps. Activities include: Installing, configuring, and updating apps, troubleshooting compatibility or performance issues, Ensuring apps are properly integrated with existing workflows, Keeping the tech stack clean and efficient

Product Uploads & Content Management

• Upload new products to Shopify, ensuring correct data input
• Bulk upload management using CSV or integration tools.
• Ensure product data stays consistent with Odoo & Quivo.
• Maintain high-quality product presentation and SEO-friendly structure.

Continuous Improvements

• Identify opportunities for performance improvement and automation.
• Support CRO initiatives, A/B tests, landing pages, and technical experiments.
• Implement scalable architecture for future expansion (multi‑category, new brands, regional rollout).

Required Qualifications & Experience

• 3–5+ years of experience as a Shopify Developer.
• Shopify Plus Expertise: Proven experience in upgrading stores to Plus and utilizing Plus-exclusive features (Scripts, Flow, B2B).
• Advanced Development: Expert knowledge of Liquid, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• API Mastery: Experience with Shopify Admin & Storefront APIs and complex ERP integrations.
• Subscriptions & B2B: Hands-on experience implementing subscription apps or native Shopify subscription APIs.
• Regional Scaling: Experience managing multi-store or localized e-commerce environments.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Shopify Liquid
  • HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Shopify Admin & Storefront APIs
  • App configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience maintaining existing Shopify stores, not only building from scratch.
• Familiarity with ERP integrations (Odoo, Quivo experience is a plus).
• Ability to debug both front‑end and back‑end issues independently.
• Strong understanding of e‑commerce operations, order flow, and inventory sync.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.

Preferred Background

• Experience with Zapiet, Klaviyo, wishlist apps, and review apps.

• Previous remote work experience with strong self-management.
• Knowledge of analytics tools (GA4, heatmaps, dashboards).
• Experience in FMCG, groceries, household, or multi‑category e‑commerce is an advantage.
